RIP Peter Graves

I have a huge urge to watch Airplane! now as well. Peter Graves was the most consistently funny guy in that film.

I just stuck in "Parts" (MST3K version, of course) I'll have to watch the couple other MST3K movies he was in too over the next few days, and of course Airplane! I wonder if there'll be a Biography marathon at some point.

Man, that's a loss. 83, he was up there. Guy was a legend.

This is very sad news. I grew up loving him on Mission: Impossible and then years later was pleasantly surprised to see him in Stalag 17 (one of his first films, I believe).

This is how I'll always remember the late great Peter Graves.

Though when you look back at it - he was only in the film for maybe 5 minutes.

Probably that his he was more known for his straight roles i.e Phelps that made it work.

Also I think he's also the second of the enemble cast actors to pass away - Greg Morris died back in the nineties (just after the first Tom Cruise M:I film came out).

Rest in peace Mr. Graves.

One of my local stations has been showing Mission: Impossible every day. I never really got to watch it before. He was great as Mr. Phelps.

Does anyone know if he was close to his brother James Arness?

RIP Peter... :(

"Captain, how soon can we land?"
"I can't tell."
"You can tell me, I'm a doctor."
"No, I mean I'm just not sure."
"Well can't you take a guess?"
"...Not for another two hours."
"You can't take a guess for another two hours?"

You have clearance, Clarence!

RIP. He was a true classic. I don't guess I ever knew he was the brother of James Arness .

"Captain, what should we do if the passengers start to panic?"
"All right. This is the way we're gonna play it. Mary, I want you here in case there's a full cabin press. Testa, you take the aisle here and cover Mary's weak side in case she gets double-teamed!"

In an article on yahoo it was said that he collapsed outside his home after returning from brunch with his family.
Can you all tell mr something, did you ever see Peter's brother James Arnress ever play a role like Peter played in Airplane & Airplane II? As best as I can remember both never appeared on screen together and I bet they would've worked wondeful together.
Thank you Peter Graves, you'll be missed but you won't be forgotten!

James

Wow..I was just watching him in THE WINDS OF WAR today...class act. My wishes go out to his brother James Arness, who I had the great joy of meeting years ago!! Peter Graves will be missed..

Rob

RIP, Mr Graves. I remember watching MI on Tuesday evenings as a kid before I went to bed. One of my earliest memories in fact, was not understanding a word of it, but loving it nontheless.
