RIP Michael K. Williams

That really sucks. In the amazing ensemble cast that was The Wire, he was one of the most memorable performers, absolutely inhabiting the role of Omar and making him an all-time great. And he was brilliant in everything he did. Taken far too young.

A fantastic actor with so many memorable roles on quality shows and films like The Wire, Lovecraft Country, Community, Hap & Leonard, The Night Of, When They See Us, Boardwalk Empire, Community, 12 Years a Slave and more. Taken way too young. Rest in peace.

This really breaks my heart. I loved everything he did, but especially The Wire and Boardwalk Empire.

Gone too soon.

Rest in peace, Michael. :(

Saw this on the news tonight. How very sad! He was great in Lovecraft Country and 12 Years a Slave.

Very sad..
Havent seen the wire yet....but he was great in Hap and Leonard...

Michael was extraordinary as Omar, but he was even better in Lovecraft Country. He was an amazing acting talent, a combination sensitivity, menace, intensity, and intelligence. His story so much reminds me of DMX, and ironically, I thought that Michael might have been perfect to play X, if it had been done a decade ago.

At just 54: he could have done so much more. As someone on Twitter said, tell heaven, “Omar coming” RIP.
