RIP John Sullivan

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
Sad news.

From BBC News

John Sullivan, who wrote one of the best-loved British sitcoms, Only Fools and Horses, has died at the age of 64.
The BBC said he had suffered a short illness.
He also wrote Citizen Smith, and his latest work Rock & Chips is due to be shown on BBC One on Thursday.

Sad day for the BBC and the entire country, a true legend of UK TV, simple as...

:guffaw: Thank you John for this and so much more of your superb writing.

No, it wasn't. That John Sullivan was (perhaps is) an aspiring writer/producer based in Florida, for whom the boundaries between fantasy and reality were as hazy and shifting as a fog bank.

As a massive OFAH fan, this is very sad news. Too young, and with so much more great stuff to give!

The term "legend" is bandied about far too readily these days, but JS really will be remembered as a legend of comedy. Forget your US-style "30 writers in a room trying to come up with a funny script"; he wrote every single classic, hilarious, emotional and truthful moment of OFAH himself.

Genius!
