He was one of my favorites. He'll be sorely missed.
God, Tim Russert, Stan Winston, and now George Carlin. These past couple weeks have sucked.
Another instance of coming in threes.
He will be missed. He was a great comedian.
Cyd Charise also died. So actually four notable in the last ten days (Charise,russert,winston and carlin) and about six in the last 3 weeks. This three thing is just a superstitious myth.

Damn, I saw this this morning and just, damn.
I remember when a classmate brought his Class CLown Album to a party...I think he was the reason it sold out so fast in St. Louis..we all bought a copy the next day.
Still have mine. Will have to get it out and hold a tibute.
ps We bought it mostly for the "I used to be an Irish Catholic" cut, "7 words" was a bonus.

ET breaks the news that comedian George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, his longtime publicist said. He was 71.
Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems.
Carlin has more than 20 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, numerous TV and movie roles, and three best-selling books to his credit. Last year, he celebrated his 50th year in show business, and he had just finished his last HBO special in March, "It's Bad for Ya."
Russert and now Carlin...very sad.
People, I had quadruple bypass just three years ago. And you have no idea how it feels, after one of those operations, everytime you have a pain in your chest. You always feel that it may be your heart crapping out. The death of these two men have made me appreciate the time I have with my own family.
So..cut down on the cholesterol and fatty bread foods (pizza). That is my tip of the day...

You know, I'm awakened every morning by my clock radio by 1010 WINS News, an all-news radio station here in New York City. One of the first questions I ask myself is, "OK, who died now?" And I swear, whenever I say that to myself, there's a story about someone famous passing on. So sad to hear this.
George Carlin is one of my comedic idols. He was so funny and irreverent and I used to have his album, Occupation: Foole, which had the seven deadly words skit on it. I laughed so hard at his stuff. He was about the same age as my stepfather, who I lost back in November.

This is shocking news. I read it this morning and my heart just sank a little. Sad, sad, thing to happen to the world of comedy. A powerful loss.

You were a great legend.
I also woke up to this news and I nearly cried. He was truly one of the greats. It's hard to imagine a world without him in it.

Wow...I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. He was too young, IMO. 71 really isn't that old these days.
Heard about his death on the radio this morning and was shocked to hear it. I've been playing some of his routines I have on my computer as a tribute. I had the chance to see him live a couple of times but I never went and now I completely regret it. RIP George. You will be missed.
Yup, the world became a little too serious today. He has a great wit and was so damn smart when he would throw the different words and meaning of things out so quickly, sometimes you had to really pay attention which is hard when you're laughing so hard you blow a snot on your shirt.

I remember him in my younger days as Rufus in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and for his underrated Fox sitcom. But I've gotten a chance to see him of his act on HBO, youtube, and heard him on the radio. The guy was funny as hell.
