RIP Dolores O'Riordan (singer for the Cranberries)

Yeah, this was a big jolt. Did not expect this. The Cranberries provided the soundtrack to a certain troubled time in my life. A time when I did a lot of driving in the deeps of night. This is my favorite song of theirs and it was magical to pass through some small town at 2-3 am while all the world dreamt.

Rest In Peace, Doloris and thanks.

I've spent quite a bit of the day trying to get my head around this. 46 is just wrong.

I liked The Cranberries from day one, although I wouldn't call myself a fan in the classic (for want of a better word) sense. "Linger" (IMO, anyway) is one of those near-perfect songs that seems to get better with every hearing.

Requiescat in pace, and thanks for the memories.

Well, this is just unbelievable. There's a fundamental wrongness to dying at 46 years old. And she really did have one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard.

RIP, Dolores O'Riordan. :(

My dad died 3 weeks before turning 46. My grandpa's best friend died at 38 from a heart attack. The world is a beautiful and cruel place and I'm thankful the time and one of a kind voice we have gotten.

46 isn't an age to leave this world, quite sad, I've never been a fan but I know a few of their songs, she did have an unique voice.

Really surprised to hear this. I don't know much about the band or Dolores but the song "Linger" is fantastic and "Zombie" as well. I'm sure there are many more great songs from this band but even as someone who knows nothing about them; those two were masterworks.

RIP Dolores.

I just heard about this today. The Cranberries are a personal favorite of mine, so I'm deeply saddened. :( After the attack on 9/11, they wrote a track called "New New York."
