RIP Dixie Carter

She passed away? She was in very good health and she was only 70. Most healthy folks live longer in this day and age. This is surprising. Perhaps she had a health condition no one knew about. Sad for Hal Holbrook. He'll be lost without her. They were married for a long time.

Dreams of having an orgy with original cast of Designing Women have died, too.

What a show, four women who did no work at all...were they designers? Who knows?

So long, Dixie, you were no Lynda Carter, but still pretty easy on the eyes back in the day.

Ok, somebody in this thread has just gotten a one-way ticket to ignoresville.

I was lucky enough to meet Ms. Carter, and she could not have been a nicer person. Sweet, warm, a beautiful person inside and out.

Though I am sad to see her go, I am glad she will live on in our memories. And when I think of Dixie Carter, this is the scene I will always remember. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV86kehwkc0

Damn. I always liked her. :( This was a surprise...I wonder what the cause was. Hadn't heard of her being ill, and she still looked quite good during her recurring stint on Desparate Housewives a couple of years ago.

She was amazing in Desperate Housewives too...forever cementing the tried and true maxim;

"You don't neva mess with a Sugabaker woman!"

Rest in Peace Dixie Carter. You will be missed.

I'll always remember her singing "How Great Thou Art." Gorgeous, stunning voice.

I loved both of those scenes and another one I loved was when she told off the magazine reporter for printing that people in Georgia eat DIRT. :wtf:
If there is anyone out there who has the video or knows where to find it, please post it!

Man, she looked good for 70 ; )
