RIP Dean Stockwell

Know him mostly from Quantum Leap and BSG, as well as the Lynch's Dune and his guest appearances on Enterprise and Stargate. RIP.

One of the best scenes in Battlestar Galactica...

Loved that a machine with a human body actually wanted to be MORE of a machine. I'd much rather be a robot than human.

Quantum Leap was my favourite show for a while when I was a child and his chemistry with Scott Bakula was probably the most important thing about it.

^ He was the best Cylon. Dude was in the business since 1945!!! He started as a child actor.

I meant to put this on YT a couple days ago, but had problems with PowerDirector.

I am sad to hear about his death. I liked watching him on Quantum Leap and later on NuBSG. He will be missed.

At this point, I have to wonder how TF I don't remember seeing him in a dozen other shows and movies what with 204 credits per IMDB.

Obv the one appearance on ST:ENT rings a bell. His part in Dune (1984) must have been quick?

small but very important as he played Dr Yueh.

I haven't seen that one in a looooooong time. Same with Columbo or some of Dean's other TV appearances, I might have seen him, but just don't recall.

I really should get Dune on blu-ray. That was a classic from my particular movie era.

Didn't know it had a BR release. Quick look at wiki says it's release of the original 1984 cut and. They wanted to do the tv release (which got a steelbox release about a decade ago) but that's been deleted from the catalogue.

It does. There is a 2010 Universal release at 1080p and 2021 Arrow 4K (only 2160p) & 1080p releases.

Blue Velvet, featuring another Dean Stockwell appearance, is also out on blu-ray, tho I'm not sure that's my kinda movie.
