RIP Christina Grimmie

I know, she isn't exactly famous... but I've been watching youtube videos of her singing since she was 13-14 years old and seen her grow as a singer. Waking up today, the first piece of news I heard was someone had shot and killed her at the young age of 22... I'm in disbelief, still shocked that something like this would happen to such a sweet girl.

I didn't know her at all, but I was really saddened by this. Yet another senseless death, and for it to happen for someone who was just 22 and had a great career ahead of her, this just sucks.

RIP. :(

What makes it worse are the circumstances surrounding her death. It was, in every way, utterly pointless. There was nothing to be gained, no lesson to be learned, just a senseless, useless death that will get scratched into the post for this year. It is truly awful, and my condolences are with her friends and family. :(

I was surprised and sad to hear this news. My only knowledge of her was through watching The Voice. Among the hundreds of contestants whose names I've quickly forgotten, she stood out and I have remembered her and looked into what she was up to occasionally. She was so young, talented, and seemed like a genuinely sweet person.

The articles I read gave very little information on the way it happened or why. Was it just a random stranger? Or someone who knew her?

What a sad loss.

The information suggests that although the assailant didn't know her personally he traveled some distance to commit the crime which suggests to me it was at least targeted. Maybe an obsessive fan? Some of the stuff leveled at YouTube singers is downright creepy.

Never heard of her either but it was a tragic loss. Sounds like the shooter became obsessed with her and was filled with a lot of anger. There are a lot of people like that out there and this time, one of them managed to act on that anger and succeed.

Never heard any of her songs either personally but it is a terrible loss and my thoughts are with her family and friends at this time, such a young age as well. R.I.P. Christina Grimmie.

Never heard of her either.

I figure what better way to celebrate her life than through her music? So here's some of her best covers.

Christina at 15 - My Heart Will Go On
Christina at 16 - Just A Dream (With Sam Tsui)
Christina at 17 - Titanium
Christina at 18 - Titanium (Dancing With The Stars version), Whitney Houston Tribute - I Will Always Love You
Christina in The Voice (20 years old) - Wrecking Ball, Hold On, We're Going Home, How To Love
Christina at 21 - I Need A Hero, Hello

Yeah it's probably the best way to remember her. I'll have a listen to these when I get the chance.
