RIP Bubba Smith

Bit of my childhood gone right there, because I remember often seeing Bubba on TV shows I watched as a kid, from Wonder Woman to Hart to Hart. Plus being Hightower in Police Academy. RIP.

He was great in Police Academy. One of my favorites from the cast and he seemed like a real nice guy from the interview he did for the dvd.

I saw a mention of this on a friend's facebook feed. Hightower was one of my favourite characters from Police Academy. RIP Bubba.
 
He used to some great commercials, for things like Miller Lite and a candy bar that's long gone now. Huge man who struck fear into QB's everywhere......
 
RIP, Bubba Smith. I felt bad when I read this one. 66...a lot of guys who played in the NFL don't seem to make it out of their sixties. Sad.

I'll always remember him from the Police Academy movies. Although I think my all-time favorite Bubba Smith appearance was as Al Bundy's rival "Spare Tire" in Married with Children. The image of him and Al going toe-to-toe with the Chariots of Fire music in the background always made me laugh.
 
This was sad to hear this morning. Age 66, wow!
The report I heard on the news said his death didn't seem unusual.
They didnt' say "natural causes" so does anyone know yet. I've not had much 'net time today thus far.

You'll be missed Mr.Smith.
