RIP Allen Arbus

While I've long preferred the original movie version of MASH over the TV series, I always liked the character of Dr. Sidney Freedman. That character could have probably carried his own series, IMO.
 
He was great on M*A*S*H*, and I didn't think he was that old, he didn't look it.

Same here. I thought he was in his 80's...

Yeah, I assumed he wasn't much older than Alan Alda. He always seemed like a contemporary of Hawkeye, not someone almost old enough to be his father.

Side note: Am I the only one who assumes that Frank Miller used Arbus as the model for his Dr. Wolper character in "TDKR"?

Definitely. Guess his approach in terms of humor and acting really made him appear younger.
