We find in said arc that Riley is actually a double agent. He's really working with Buffy gaining intel and info on Twilight. But it seems no he doesn't know who he is

In August there is to be a Riley one-shot issue, which'll focus on the hows and why of how he got involved with Twilight, and shed more light on Twilight's scheme. As they don't have the time in the main Season 8 story to intensively go into said story

I can't remember but was it mentioned what happened with Riley's wife? I can't recall if it was mentioned if they were together or not.

^ Not been mentioned in Season 8, but I believe that's one of the things the one-shot will explain
