Rik Mayall Dead at 56

Rik Mayall, absolute legend of British comedy has sadly died.

No real news on what happened yet, but he never quite got over his accident a few years back.

Crushingly sad anyway, this guy was a genius, and The Young Ones, Bottom, and many of the other brilliant comedies he starred in have been my amongst my all time favourites.

Really? He had done quite a bit of work since then and that accident was 16 years ago. I didn't realize it was still effecting him in any way.

I was really hoping there would be another series of Bottom one day. There was a point when I was a teen that I had seen it so many times I could virtually recite it.

Probably the best physical and gross out comedian of all time IMO.

Hard to quantify the impact Rick et al had on my formative years.

Gutted to hear about this. I must have watched each episode of Bottom about 50 times over the years; absolute legend. Richard Richard is easily one of my all time favourite characters.
