Ridley Scott direct Joe Haldeman's Forever War?

Having read a summary of the story as a primer, wasn't that one of the main points? I'd hope they'd take the risk and put it in.

I hope so too. What a shitstorm that would create! :rommie:

But it'll never happen. Put it in the same category as The Man in the High Castle - too hot for Hollywood!

Basically, it'd be banned in places like China and Iran which enforce (to a degree) population control. I really hope Scott takes the risk though. It could be a really intelligent film if he goes in the right direction.

Not just there. The Bible thumpers of America will start screaming about you-know-who's agenda. It's everything they've accused Hollywood of doing, coming true right before their eyes.

Anyway, Iran bans everything but people get stuff through illegal DVDs and satellite. And China just pirates everything, so who cares about selling a movie there?

If whoever the parent company of Fox News were producing this movie, they probably would go there. Imagine what a gift to the ratings that would be! Hannity would never shut up.
