News Rick Moranis to return to Honey I Shrunk the Kids Role for Reboot, Shrunk

And the TV show as well. I lived that when I was a youngling.
I think the TV show was suppose to take place around the same time as the first movie, since the kids were like the same ages as they were in the first movie.

But it’s surprising that that show hasn’t hit DVD yet! ITunes Canada has Seasons 1 & 3 (no Season 2—what gives?).

Woohoo. Out of retirement for both Johnston and Moranis. Johnston said he was going to retire after the last Narnia movie in 2017

Odd, as that film was never made or released. Last I heard about it, they never got past pre-production, as the boy playing Eustace was suddenly over six feet tall. I never followed up, as I felt that if it wasn't being made, I didn't need to know why.

This is amazing news! I'm so glad! Big fan of the first two movies. I don't think I ever seen the whole third one.

I just saw the first episode. The first episode wipes out “Honey We Shrunk Ourselves”. In that movie Diane had never gotten shrunk, but in the first episode she, Amy and Wayne and their van are shrunk and injested by Diane’s father.

Of course it would be nice if Disney would release it (and Blew Up The Kid—-We Shrunk Ourselves was shot on film but edited on videotape) on Blu-Ray. It looks like they may’ve released a version in 2017 through the Disney Movie Club, but there’s been no general release. And I still have my VHS’s of the first 2 movies as I didn’t think it was worth it to upgrade to DVD years ago as Disney used the 4:3 90’s broadcast masters, the same that was used for the VHS.
Disney+ has all three movies, but I don't think they have the series.

ITunes has all 3 movies and Seasons 1 & 3 of the TV show. However the TV show and 3rd movie were edited on SD videotape, so unless they rescan the original film and recreate the CGI in HD, they are locked at 480i). And from what I’ve seen of the “trailer” for “Honey I Blew Up The Kid” (which is the microwave scene where the baby first grows from electrical energy), while its in widescreen, the 1080p offering looks like a DVD upconvert, possible something made for Japan’s MUSE system in the 90’s. It’s very soft and the green screen/split screen sequences looked rough.
