Reza Badiyi has died

Reza Badiyi has died in Los Angeles, at the age of 81. He directed "Civil Defense", "Past Tense, Part I", "Life Support", "Visionary" and "Paradise Lost".

Badiyi apparently holds the record for most television episodes directed, which aside from DS9 include Hawaii 5-0, The Incredible Hulk, The Rockford Files and Police Squad!

Over 400 episodes... wow. I believe that justifies the use of 'prolific'.

Apart from the 400+ TV episodes, Badiyi also created the memorable opening credits sequences for Hawaii Five-O, Get Smart, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I'd remembered seeing his name in episodes of Five-O and Mission: Impossible, but it wasn't until I was watching DS9 for the first time this summer and saw him credited as the director on "Civil Defense" that it hit me just how long and prolific his career truly was.
