Rewrite "Endgame" Contest

Janeway: I went ahead and ordered some onion rings for the table. Best in the state as far as I'm concerned.

THE END.

Alright, here's my gawd awful idea for how 'Endgame' could be, followin' the four guidelines set out by Akiraprise.

And, please, don't quote it if ya feel like replyin' to it.

In the year 2409, Lieutenant Commander Miral Paris continues to be haunted by the loss of her father, Tom Paris, who died during the final years of VOYAGER's journey back to Earth from the Delta Quadrant. For years, Miral has studied the logs and sensor data from that mission, as well as researching every declassified technology that would allow her to save her father.

When Captain Harry Kim returns to the Alpha Quadrant from the Gamma Quadrant aboard the USS RHODE ISLAND, he brings back the key that Miral needs.

As she is called to rendevous with Harry at DEEP SPACE NINE, Miral prepares a shuttle with the latest in defensive technology that Starfleet has to offer.

Upon arrival the the Bajoran station, Harry and Miral go over the warp field configuration and added technology that would be needed for Miral's mission to succeed. There technology had been inadvertantly tested by the RHODE ISLAND in the Gamma Quadrant, so Harry knows it works. He agrees to cover for Miral with Starfleet Command, and after a brief meeting with Admiral Nerys, to explain the "warp tests" of the new shuttle configuration in the Badlands, Miral is off, to retrace the steps takin' by the STARSHIP VOYAGER prior to its departure into the Delta Quadrant.

As Miral activates the technobabble device attached to the warp engines, a tachyon warphole forms, carrying her to her destination...

In the year 2378, the crew of the STARSHIP VOYAGER is actively avoiding the BORG. A new wave of assimilation have put the crew in danger from all sides. Seven of Nine and Icheb have been making routine trips to sickbay, to have the Doctor adjust their implants - they are the beacons that the BORG are able to track the ship by. As BORG spheres continue to scout for the Federation starship, a tachyon disturbance is detected by Ensign Harry Kim. The BORG also pick up the disturbance, and VOYAGER takes the opportunity to again make a break for it, heading for an uninhabited planet, to land and make repairs. And to give the crew time to work out a plan, Seven and Icheb put themselves into stasis after deactivating their alcoves.

When Miral emerges from the tachyon warphole, she finds two BORG spheres waiting for her. She activates the cloaking shields, scrampling the BORG sensors and avoiding both spheres without incident.

On the VOYAGER, Lieutenant Commander Tuvok has taken an away team consisting of himself, Tom Paris and Harry Kim to investigate the tachyon surge. As they approach, they pick up the BORG spheres, and something else. A technobabble phased variance. The shuttle is turned around and makes a round about trip back to the planet the ship has landed on.

As the DELTA FLYER is delayed in returning, the shuttle Miral is piloting arrives in orbit directly above where VOYAGER has landed.

Miral hails the ship, and asks Captain Kathryn Janeway for permission to beam down. When she arrives, Miral first asks to see Tom, only to learn that he isn't onboard. She's confused, because according to the records, Tom was supposed to be on the ship the entire time repairs were being made. Her arrival in the past has already begun to alter the timeline. Miral and a very pregnant B'elanna share a scene in Engineering before Miral, Janeway and Chakotay have a pow wow in the ready room.

During the meeting, Chakotay and Miral keep glancing at each other.

As the DELTA FLYER makes its way back to the planet, the BORG pick it up on sensors. Tuvok sends a distress call to VOYAGER, and Miral volunteers to take her shuttle to save the team. Chakotay and the Doctor join her aboard it, and head for the FLYER.

Miral is able to extend her cloak shields around the FLYER and both shuttles power down as the spheres approach. Its a tense situation for all involved, and Chakotay offers Miral a comforting hand on her shoulder as the BORG scan the area before they warp away.

When both shuttles return to VOYAGER, Miral is reunited with her father, Tom, for the first time in years. A full on senior staff conference is called, and Miral goes over her plan. This is a critical time for VOYAGER's crew, as evidenced by the increase in BORG activity. Miral's shield technology will protect the ship. Offensive weapons won't be allowed, she argues that they won't be needed since the shields will blind the BORG sensors to the ship. As she goes over the modifications necessary, she explains that Seven of Nine will have to be taken out of stasis, so that nothing will be missed. BORG perfection would be needed to double check all their work.

The Doctor relunctantly agrees, saying that Seven's internal signal could be dampened, to avoid detection by the BORG in the area.

As the work begins to prepare VOYAGER with technoloy from the future, Chakotay, Tom and Miral work on both her shuttle and the DELTA FLYER, as Seven, Tuvok and Harry work on the starship.

Meanwhile, the BORG QUEEN brings her ship into the sector, her sense of vengeance against Janeway getting the best of her.

As the BORG continue their search, the Doctor is constantly hovering over Seven of Nine, worrying about her.

During a quiet moment, Miral reviews the crew reports and logs, and finds other ways that her arrival in the past has altered the mission, putting everything she has known for years into question. As was her habit in the future, Miral goes to her "Uncle Harry" for guidance, despite the age difference between the ensign on the ship and the captain she knew.

Miral and Harry take her concerns to Captain Janeway, and Janeway argues for offensive weapons to use against the BORG. Though her specialty was not in tactical systems, Miral offers up all the information she was able to bring from the future, with the exception of how to form the tachyon warphole.

Despite the Doctor's best efforts, the BORG QUEEN is able to locate Seven of Nine, and invades her mentally. From their contact, the QUEEN heads for the planet where VOYAGER has gone to ground. Miral leaves the database with the crew, and she & Tom takes her shuttle out to slow the BORG down. Chakotay and a crew of junior crew take the DELTA FLYER to back them up while final preperations are made aboard VOYAGER.

Thanks to the tactical advantage of Miral's shields and weapons, the BORG sphere sent by the QUEEN is easily defeated. But, even as it is destroyed, the QUEEN dispatches more spheres to attack the one shuttle she can see on sensors.

As the shuttles engage the BORG, VOYAGER warps in from the planet to test the new weapons and shields. The QUEEN picks up that Seven is no longer on the planet, and again attacks her mentally. The Doctor makes such a drastic alteration to Seven's systems, she lapses into a comatose state.

The two shuttles and VOYAGER are able to defeat the BORG, forcing the QUEEN to call her ships back. She too was stunned by suddenly being disconnected from Seven, and orders her ship to the site of the battle.

As the BORG ship deployments become erratic, Captain Janeway decides to press the advantage, despite the warnings from Miral that the ship needs to warp out and put some distance between themselves and the BORG.

The QUEEN calls her forces back from VOYAGER, to regroup as she continues to try to tap into Seven's mind.

On VOYAGER, the Doctor removes more implants and technology from Seven as she remains in a coma. Chakotay, Tom and Miral work on more deployment patterns for their two shuttles. Janeway wants to take the fight to the BORG QUEEN, but they are unable to locate the cubes & spheres. Thanks to the information Miral has brought from the future, Janeway forms a plan to fight the BORG without putting everyone in danger.

As a small fleet of BORG spheres & cubs warp vicinity of VOYAGER, Miral takes her shuttle out, Tom takes the helm of the DELTA FLYER and a fight between the forces ensues.

During the fight, B'elanna begins to go into Klingon labor in Engineering- as Miral is fighting to protect VOYAGER, her mother is giving birth to her.

With the battle in full swing, the Doctor is seen putting Seven of Nine's body into a morgue drawer, a look of sad determination on his face. As he steps back into sickbay, B'Elanna is brought in by Vorik as her labor pains continue.

As BORG ships are damaged and replaced by others, Janeway leaves Chakotay in command and leaves the bridge.

Miral and Tom work in concert with each other fighting one BORG ship after another with their shuttles as Janeway takes a shuttle she had modified with Miral's shield technology.

With everything coming to a head, from the battle with the BORG to Miral being born, Miral's shuttle is damaged. As the damage makes it visible on the BORG sensors, Tom locks onto his daughter's communications badge & beams her aboard the DELTA FLYER. After Miral's shuttle is destroyed, Chakotay recalls the FLYER to VOYAGER as Janeway takes her Type II shuttle into the direct path of the QUEEN's ship.

When Tom docks the shuttle, Miral is beamed directly to sickbay. Then he learns that Torres is in labor, and though he wants to join his wife and daughter in sickbay, Tom is ordered to report to the bridge.

As VOYAGER evades the incoming BORG ships, Janeway drops the cloak shields and transports herself aboard the QUEEN's ship, fully armed and with a Hansen band on her arm. As the BORG lock a tractor beam on the shuttle, the self-destruct destroys it, and damages the QUEEN's ship. As Janeway confronts the QUEEN, more BORG ships are sent after VOYAGER.

Chakotay orders Tom to take the ship back to the source of Miral's tachyon surge, hoping to confuse the BORG even more than the cloak shields.

In sickbay, the Doctor triages Miral, while Vorik monitors Torres's vitals. As other injured crew come to sickbay, the Doctor looks to the main holographic control. Entering a sequence, he mutters that he could really use some help, and in moments, Seven of Nine is standing behind him, poised & straight, with her hands behind her back. The Doctor orders her to assist with the minor injuries flooding sickbay while he finishes treating Miral.

On the QUEEN's ship, Janeway continues to wreck havoc on her way to the central chamber.

As VOYAGER warps into the tachyon field left by Miral's entry into their time frame, the ship vanishes from the BORG sensors.

When Janeway and the QUEEN come face to face, Janeway triggers her tricorder to dampen the signals from the QUEEN to the BORG COLLECTIVE, cutting her off from every drone, just as the Doctor had cut the QUEEN's signal off from Seven of Nine. The QUEEN's isolation from the COLLECTIVE is too much, and she literrally falls apart, shrieking the whole time. The loss of the QUEEN causes the drones to explode out of their alcoves, and the BORG ship destroys itself, taking Captain Janeway with it.

On VOYAGER, Chakotay orders a full stop, moments after the ship crossed the through the tachyon field. Full sensor scans reveal the BORG ships are gone, without a trace. Harry reports they are no longer anywhere near where they were when they entered the field. As Harry and Tuvok try to determine what has happened, the Doctor contacts the bridge, reporting that Tom's daughter is being born.

Hours later, Tom is still in sickbay with his wife and newborn daughter. In the next bed, Chakotay is standing over Miral when she is revived, and when her eyes open, they both smile at each other as her hand tightens on his. Seven and the Doctor remain out of the way, going over the finer details of holographic emitter placement, so that both he and Seven can leave sickbay at the same time. It is revealed that her injuries were too extensive, and the Doctor transferred her consciousness into a holographic matrix, temporarily limited to sickby and the holodecks.

The peace of sickbay is broken by Tuvok's call for Chakotay to join him in Astrometrics. Seven starts, but remains in the office as the former first officer leaves with one final look at Miral.

Once viewing the huge holographic screen in the lab, Tuvok explains that crossing the tachyon field with the modified shielding transported VOYAGER through time, but not space. Their position remains the same, but by examing the starfields and long range sensor scans of the battle they fought with the BORG, Tuvok, Harry & Icheb have determined that they are approximately thirty years in the future, the same year that Miral left from.

With an arched eyebrow, Tuvok asks Chakotay, "What are your orders, Captain?"

"Set a course, for home."

Interesting. :) But what sort of relationship were you insinuating existed between the Indian and that Paris child?

she explains that Seven of Nine will have to be taken out of stasis, so that nothing will be missed. BORG perfection would be needed to double check all their work.

TPTB made Seven into a paragon by making the rest seem like monkeys. It was quite sad. Do I note a pinch of Sarcasm here?

Love at first sight, and a relationship that wouldn't have happened without Miral travellin' back in time & meetin' Chakotay as an adult.

One of Akiraprise's points was to give Chakotay a relationship.

Done.

TPTB made Seven into a paragon by making the rest seem like monkeys. It was quite sad. Do I note a pinch of Sarcasm here?

Well, for one, I was tryin' to stay a bit consistent with the series, for another, I needed a way for Janeway to learn how to take on the Queen, and third, if Seven stayed in stasis, she wouldn't have lost her physical body, and I had to kill her off, sort of, to pair her with the Doctor.

It's the only way the bald hologram would stand a chance, to even their playin' field.

Had to have a relationship for Seven of Nine, too.

So, ya know, done!

Seven can't be half as difficult to pull as Jeri, and y'know, maybe as a person, he is charming, but Brannon Braga????

^

Look at it this way - as a hologram, Seven could "wear" a blue-shouldered Starfleet uniform and ditch the appearance of Borg implants on her hand & face.

Flash back to Relativity. The Starfleet look is much better than her usual attire.

Did we like... What's the consensus on her one true love Auxum?

See? Now ya are warmin' up to my holo-Seven, aren't ya?

Did we like... What's the consensus on her one true love Auxum?

Wouldn't know...'Unimatrix Zero, Parts One & Two' are on the list of episodes I missed.

Sometimes I think you are so lucky having never having to have bogged through some of this dross. :)

Idea two.

I have been of the mind that the quicksilver planet would not have been content to have just produced/created the single Voyager faxsimile. I think there are thousands, if not millions of USS Voyager running the gamut on their way to earth, that is if the greater consistency of the Quicksilver was rebuilt into the people...

My story is about the verteron arrays on Pluto and Mars destroying the many many USS Voyagers each week as they approach Earth and half a dozen stories of each of theses crews up until the real Earthlings kill them.

Well, one thing I would rewrite was that whole C/7 crapola. Instead of them getting together, Janeway and Chakotay would finally get together in the end. :D Janeway would say something like: "Where have YOU been all my life?"

^

Nah...then Chakotay would have to say, "Three feet to your left."

I like my way better - Chakotay gets a chick out of time, the Doctor gets Seven of Nine, and Janeway goes BOOM! on a Borg ship.

Really? I just made the assumption in your story that if things started up between these two here in the past that she was already involved with Old man Chakotay in the future?

Straight after Kim who nearly got dragged into an orgy with people who assured him they were his siblings, Chak is the second most tawdry member of the command crew, since he only had a regular orgy through a Borg healing Link.

Voyager hides creepy in plain sight.

All I have to say is…

Part 1
They reach Earth at the end of part 1

Part 2
You see what happens when they get home, and you feel satisfied with the conclusion.

And
There's no time travel at all. Everything is very heavily character-based, with some nice big battles thrown in for "goodbye" firewords.
