Rewind: Renaissance Next poetry comp UPDATE

Members of Renaissance Next may remember our poetry comps.

I was the very proud winner of one of the first competitions with a poem called Map of Touch.

Well I am please to tell interested parties that my poem - slightly tweaked - along with another is about to be published in a book. An anthology of international poets.

The poems are actually part of a fantasy story I'm writing entirely in poetry. I submitted them to the publisher as a 'tester' to see if anyone would like them.

:techman:

Actually, I wrote several poems for the contests over at Renaissance Next. But it was during last years 'dark' period so I haven't revisited them in a while. I don't think I ever won though. I know there was one I was particularly proud of.

Maybe we could repost them here? I am not sure you could DM with copyrights and all but I would love to read them again. :bolian:

^^ We can have a Poetry Thread here. You can also RePost at ReNext if you want. :D

That's great, DM. Congratulations. :bolian:

Now we need information on the book, so we can buy it. And you need to get yourself over to ReNext to bask in your well-deserved glory. ;)

Unfortunately, all those Poetry Contests were before the Apocalypse, so all that information is lost. Those were good times, though. :)

Here's my poem:

"To You Know Who You Are!"

Roses are red
Violets are blue
You're a big head
So ha ha fuck you!

Congrats! I always knew you were multi-talented. ReNext is a great place to test out new ideas, thoughts, and artistic expressions.

Is it Renaissance style poetry?

I wrote a long BSG Shakespeare spoof that RDM loved, but it was longer than Hamlet when only halfway done.
