I grew up with TNG. Loved it and still do. It hit at the perfect time when I was a kid. When DS9 came out, I couldn't watch it. It wasn't Star Trek to me. I was just too obsessed with TNG to accept anything different. I didn't watch another Star Trek show until starting Enterprise partway through the first season.
Then 4-5 years ago I watched DS9 on Netflix. The first few seasons I thought were rough but I loved the rest. Then went straight into Voyager, which I'd heard bad things about, but loved that also for the most part.
I've been going back through TNG (I've seen every episode many times already) in HD. Glorious. I figured I'd go through the rest of the series in chronological order. So I just finished Captive Pursuit yesterday. Before re-watching that is the episode that popped into my head when thinking about season one. Good episode. So far I'm liking it more than I did at the beginning of my first watch of the series.
The major bummer of course is watching in muddy SD after watching TNG remastered. Oh well, maybe someday.
