Review that episode!

Simply a fun game that worked well on other forums. Here's how this works. I will name an episode. Next poster should leave a brief (as you like) review of that episode with their general thoughts. Then, they can name another episode for the next poster to review. Simple, no?

To start, could someone tell me what they think of Prime Factors?

Creepy-ass main dude. I yelled at the TV "Don't fall for it! Red alert!' I liked the mini mutiny, Janeway's hair, and that weather thingy that made pretty sounds. This is probably my most basic review ever. XD

Episode: Unity

I agree- her hair was gorgeous.

I was all excited when I saw this thread! But then I saw that you chose Unity- blegh. lol. The fact that it didn't stick out in my memory said a bit, so I looked it up. I only watched that one once. I remember it being mildly interesting, but I didn't particularly like it. Maybe it was the plot being bland? That I didn't like the characters? I don't know.

I did think it was pretty cool however for him to be able to experience the hive mind in a way with the implant, but without actually being assimilated.

If that counts as a review, next up is Riddles.

Riddles? blech! I'm kidding. I love this episode. Tim Russ always does a spectacular job when he has a challenge. Voyager comes across another Xenophobic race and they wipe Commander Tuvok as we know him. He's confused, frustrated, and begins to live in a new way. Making friends, learning to bake, making sculptures and most shocking is Neelix's friendship. Of course there has to be some sort of dilemma. You have one 'friend' alien bent on taking advantage of the situation to uncover these Xenophobes, while Voyager crew wants to restore him as he was and Tuvok has come to feel he likes who he is with feelings and cannot contemplate going back. I think I'll go watch it again before bed.

Okay if Unity sucks let's do.....Message in a Bottle.

Message in a bottle- Reeaaally good episode. Has a few minor flaws, but they're things you'd overlook the first few times.

The way the Prometheus decoupled was pretty cool. I mean, there are tons of things that could go wrong with an idea like that, but it WAS a prototype, so its flaws can be forgiven. Granted, there may have been fewer flaws than I thought had we learned more about the ship.

The Doctor's interactions with the Mark II were very funny. Just in general, the Mark II was hilarious. So many quotable interactions.. So many.

The look Janeway gave Seven when she shocked the Hirogen cracked me up. She's like, "I cannot believe you just did that. I mean, great job, but wow..." kinda look, lol.

Overall, a fantastic, very rewatchable episode.

Next is....Blink of an Eye.

A seven would say. This is the story of a planet displaced in time. Voyager is making the ground shake on a planet that's fast-forwarding, the doc goes there and because of some accident remains on the planet for several years. It seems that the energy supply of the portable emitter is plentiful enough. Doc says that he has a child but never explains how it might be? There's something mysterious there. At last the planet has evolved to a point where they intend to destroy Voyager. Fortunately, one visitor of Voyager from under intercedes in their favor and they are saved in extremis. If nothing else this episode is entertaining.

Virtuoso:

Because of her meddling Janeway manages to get an entire planet to self-destroy but she doesn't know it yet since that meddling involves some kind of time paradox. So this is the second time around that they go down on the planet 24 hours after it's been destroyed once down there Janeway and Paris move through a time door or something and find themselves only a few hours before it happens. Janeway this time avoids the catastrophe. Of course, it doesn't make sense since it's voyager and also because Janeway and Paris can't go back in time if the catastrophe hasn't happened yet. Anyway, another one of those episodes that never happened.

Phage

Neelix gets his lungs stolen when the Voyager crew meets the zombies of the Delta Quadrant. Kes gives him a lung. No word on what they'd do in about eight years.... I found the scene where Neelix asked the Doc if he sings...nice and funny in a foreshadowing way.

Tuvix

Neelix and Tuvok are combined in a transporter accident to produce a third individual, a guy dubbed Tuvix, that arguably combines the best of both Neelix and Tuvok and promptly charms the crew. But when the doc comes up with some technique that can untangle the accident and restore both Neelix and Tuvok, Tuvix, isn't too keen and objects to this, claiming that he'll be murdered. Despite charming the crew, most of the crew aren't too keen to support this view, so Janeway does the deed, the doc refusing to do it under the "do no harm" ethic. I like tough moral dilemmas. Great material for many a forum flame war. :)

The Raven

Cranky Catcher mask people want to make voyager go through a labyrinth of anti social stops to pass through their space. Seven's nifty Borg tracking device activates and she's compelled to return to the borg. Turns out, the Borg aren't looking for their prize drone. Someone forgot to turn off the homing beacon when they assimilated the Hansen group. How inefficient of them.

Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy

The Doctor is having day dreams, In fact he's altered his program partly because Janeway won't allow him to become an ECH (Emergency command hologram) that could take over in case all commanding officers were incapacitated as the same time (like if they all ate the same thing at Neelix' at the same time for example)
But under the adage:: "A computer program that hires himself as computer whiz has a moron for client." that alteration doesn't work too well, he's daydreaming all the time. Long story short aliens try to capture the ship but the doctor saves the day. All in good fun, Picardo's talents on display. I recommend it.
