You were either a Starsky girl or a Hutch girl. I guess for me David Soul is the exception that proves the rule. I've never been big on blondes but I always preferred Hutch.

This week, retro hunk of the week is David Soul. Instead of providing a bio this week, here's a link to an interesting recent interview with the London Evening Standard: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/starinterviews/article-23530743-details/The+real+David+Soul/article.do

Wow. Barely recognize him in that last photo. But I used to love this guy back when I was a pre-teen.

I'll give him a thumbs up in commemoration of how I felt in what? 5th or 6th grade? Junior High? Can't remember when that show was on.

Still...you should have posted a photo of that most excellent car! :techman:

And wasn't he in Here Come the Brides???? He and Bobby Sherman were pretty much my first crushes, back in grade school.

Ah....the days of sleeping with copies of 16 magazine under my pillow. :adore:

Edit: There was a CROSSOVER between Star Trek and Here Come the Brides?????? I'm...well, aghast!

Well, I've given him a thumbs up. Over here in the UK, I always preferred The Professionals, but I still remember Starsky and Hutch fondly. I was interested to see the picture of him with the cigarette. It's from a teen pin up mag. I'd be surprised to see tv heroes these days with a cigarette.

But of course.

I never did like Starsky and Hutch and so therefore had no preference between Starsky or Hutch ;), but I gave David Soul a "thumbs up" based on Here Come the Brides. The reason is that when it first came on, I did have a crush on him. Pretty quickly though, I switched my allegiance to Aaron Stempel, who might have been the sorta bad guy on Brides but who was played by: Mark Lenard. Woo-hoo! I loved Mark far more devotedly and consistently than I ever did David. But he is one of the few blondes that I've ever favored, so what the heck?

Oddly enough, I almost always prefer the blonde guy, but not on Starsky and Hutch. I never cared for Hutch at all.

I'm with you auntiehill. I really like blond guys...but David Soul just didn't do it for me. I was a Starsky girl.

I believe, in his biography, he states that at that time, when he did Star trek, he would sleep with male producers/casting directors to get parts in various TV shows and movies. Not sure he did this to get on Star Trek, one can only wonder.

I'm definitely a Starsky guy, not a Hutch guy. So I guess it's true for guys as well. :D

^^ Indeed. And I seem to have missed it when it was alive.

I loved this show when it was on the air, which was when I was in Junior High and High School. And since my nickname was "Hutch" since I was about ten, it gave me an added degree of popularity. :D

I give him a Thumbs Up, though I suspect I would prefer Starsky if I were so inclined.

Oh, wow - I remember that now. I never ever ever would have remembered it on my own, though. Ever.

And yes - thread resurrection. Not by me, but I guess I'm an accomplice.
