Resurrection - Season 1 Discussion Thread (Kurtwood Smith, Omar Epps)

Did anyone else catch the premiere tonight on ABC?

I thought it was a little disjointed, but the mystery is enough to hook me.

It's hard to get used to Kurtwood Smith not being the crotchety "dumb ass" Red Foreman and Omar Epps is pretty wooden in this first installment.

My biggest fear is that it will be like "Lost" and answer questions with more questions. However, I'd be more likely to accept a faith based answer than I did for it explaining how airplane passengers had adventures on an island with black smoke for six seasons.

I don't think it will make it to a second season.

It's probably just a government conspiracy but I found myself drawn into it. I hope they don't blow it. When more and more people come back I hope it shows what happens to religions and a much greater scale than one small town.

Watched it, not sure it's unique or gripping enough to hold my attention though...

I know it was an exposition dump in the first episode, but the scene where Kurtwood Smith basically tells his brother that his dead wife was sleeping around with the tone of "Aw shucks" sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm also so far underwhelmed with Omar Epps, but it's only been one episode.

It made sense to me. Red finds out that his brother's wife is cheating on him, but before anything can be done about it, she dies. He figures telling him now does more harm than good, so keeps it to himself.

Now that there's evidence that this same dude might have been present at brother's wife's drowning, and that suddenly becomes relevant information. The "Aww shucks" could just be the character, especially since you're used to Red Forman.

It might have been better in a later episode once we knew the characters and more of the "What the hell is going on?" had worn off. Or maybe if we had seen Red struggling with the decision. The scene was just really out of the blue.

House and Wilson are the only House actors who can... you know act.

What about Jennifer Morrison?

Definitely shows Kurtwood's range, and moreso with Frances Farmer as she seems so loving & vulnerable (so different than her role in Eureka) . And

Definitely has a Lost vibe...but I think it'll end up better.

^ Have you watched Once Upon a Time? She can not act!

Re: Resurrection - Season 1 Discussion Thread (Kurtwood Smith, Omar Ep

Any one role cannot determine that she is a good or bad actor as long as she remembers all her lines.

However, if she seems to only have one character set to one mode?

Personally, Jennifer would be fine, even though she mumbles, if she would either go back to her real hair colour, or get herself a less shitty dye job, but it's odd that it's been at least 2 years since this all started and her hair is consistently that shit...

Good lord!

Is that her real hair!?

The answer is: yes! Jennifer is in fact a natural blonde. “As an actor, I like to into my character as much as I can,” she explained to SHAPE, “And often that starts with the color of my hair.”

We love how dedicated she is to her craft! She certainly looks beautiful in any hair color, though we’re partial to blond as that’s the hair color of our beloved Emma Swan.
Even if that is close to her real colour, and the roots are the same as the tips, the tips are only a matched pallet and not natural.

She is wooden, all the House actors are very wooden.

I think she's awesome in Once Upon a Time. :(

I enjoyed the pilot. It's an adaptation of The Returned, which is on Netflix. I'll probably binge on that this weekend.

It's the same thread.

Time Travel is very confusing for some.

So since there's still two, I'm going to post here for now.

Anyone think that Caleb has become some sort've archangel, out to defend the returnees as redemption for previous sins?

Nah.

He's rescuing his bank robbing son who has never died.

I'm wanting Priest boy to run off with the new deadgirl because I love Drama.

In Being Human the eating more was first stage before the flesh eating.

Are we positively sure that this is not going to turn into a regular Zombie series eventually?
