    ^^ :D

Wishful thinking. I love trilobites. We probably couldn't get a viable sample from any dinosaurs either.

    That's great. :bolian:

And what is the point of cloning an extinct species and keeping it captive?

You're proposing that we go backwards in time, find humpback whales, then bring them foward in time, drop 'em off, and hope to Hell they tell this probe what to do with itself!

Why do folks want to clone extinct creatures so that they could eat the meat or fry it's egg. That is the reason why they became extinct in the first place.:cardie:

Cloning costs money. Somehow you need to get a return on investment. So you sell the food.

Bald Eagles aren't extinct. You can get that side right now. (But I assume there would be a hefty fine and maybe jail time)

I'd love to see dinosaurs of course, but two others that would be fascinating to me are Smilodon and Megalodon. Large, powerful predators like those just get the adrenaline pumping! Would it be a good idea to do so? Highly doubtful. Unless you want to show up the Discovery channel by releasing a Megalodon in the middle of their fake documentary! :D

Eventually this thread will have to be merged with the "What Did You Have for Dinner?" thread.

Although I'm for it, on the other hand, would they actually be how they should be? Or would we just make a best guess at how we think they should be.

I remember when I read Jurassic Park, there was a discussion about how the Dinosaurs were too aggressive, too fast and how they could change them to be more docile for the visitors to the park and would be more satisfying.

Just because we can do a thing, doesn't necessarily mean we must do that thing.

Personally, I think we should perfect cloning of animals that haven't become extinct yet.

It would be cool if they could bring back dragons.

    But just the good ones.

The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. The national animal of Wales is the Welsh Dragon.

Yeah, it'd be really cool to clone some of the extinct animals. But there is no longer a place for them in the wild, so they would need to be kept in captivity.

Considering the Scots' reputation for imbibing, maybe this would be a better choice.
