I wa also wondering that. If for real then this is quite a rare photo. Is this for real, or were the men painted out?
Real photo. Spockboy cleaned up the speckles and adjusted the contrast/colors, but no other edits. Is this for real, or were the men painted out?
Okay this one is totally new to me.
Y'all ever see this one?
Me too, and I like it.Okay this one is totally new to me.
Its from an article entitled "Two Enterprises: Star Trek's Iconic Starship as Studio Model and Celebrity", written by Margaret Weitekamp (the curator of the 11 foot model at NASM), and recently published in The Journal of Popular Film and Television (Volume 44, Issue 1, pages 2-13). The article is available online at http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/vjpf20 however you need a subscription to view or download it (or an employer whose IP address affords extensive access to online journals).![]()
Here's a couple other interesting photos from the article (first one I'd seen before,.but at poorer resolution. Second one shows the underside of the crated saucer (new to me!) as delivered to the Smithsonian in 1974.
