[edit] usmagazine.us seems to be a not relyable source and it was fake news:
http://www.reddit.com/r/startrek/comments/20jgq1/star_trek_actor_brian_bosnell_who_played/

Gone too soon. The actor, who played Aleaxander Rozhenko, has been found dead, probably due to a drug overdose:

http://usmagazine.us/family-ties-star-brian-bosnell-dies-of-apparent-drug-overdose.html

His portrayal of Alexander on TNG was flawless, he made the son of Worf totally believable and touching for the viewer. He probably didnt know, but he was an important part of the TNG family and one of the reasons the show was special.

He will be remembered by the Star Trek family.

Geez, I'm sorry to hear that. :( Obviously it's not entirely unexpected, he's very publically had problems for years now. But definitely a sorry end to a fine young actor, who sadly was one of many talented child actors in Hollywood who has fallen through the cracks when they grow too old for those kinds of parts.

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

This is so sad. I hope he finds some peace.

Good news Bonsall is still alive. These fake death stories are getting extremely tiresome now - and of course - are in the very worst taste.

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

Apparently untrue, per his friends and family in Colorado--and Brian's own Twitterfeed:
Brian Eric Bonsall ‏@mrbrianbonsall 26m
Well apparently i'm dead, lol but I'll have you know I'm doing well and enjoying a cup of coffee at home.:cardie:

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

It's best to double check these things before reporting. Unless you're a major news network, anyway.

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

The sad part is, it could've been true as much trouble as he's had.

That's why crap stories like this get any traction.

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

Well if its not true perhaps, the Mods should close this thread?

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

Good to know he's alive. Shame on whoever perpetrated the hoax.

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

That looks like an poorly-made scam site, pretending to look like US Weekly. Now they're reporting Wayne Knight (Seinfeld) has died. Uh huh.

No.

People posting without checking is why crap stories like this get any traction, not because of people's health problems.

And people making assumptions about someone they don't know because of what's been reported in the past. I hope that site is taken down, because what they're doing is inappropriate (and illegal, I suspect).

Re: Rest in peace, Brian Bonsall (Alexander Rozhenko) ...

They spell his last name three different ways in that "article".

You beat me to the punch.

I see a lot of spelling errors on news and blog sites, but nothing so blatant as this one. They usually get the names right.

Well, since he is alive and kicking, a good time to give that man some Trekkie love for his work on TNG. I did. ;)

I do not find the humour, any humour, in posting these types of stories. I wish Mr. Bonsall well.
