I’m not really enjoying this series of Doctor Who and haven’t watched an episode of the latest series in a long time (I think I have watched 3 of this series before giving up), it’s really not for me at the moment. Is it worth checking out this special though? Has Doctor Who got it’s spark back? The Daleks are tempting me... or will watching it just reinforce my dislike for Doctor Who in its current form?

Since I'm not seeing any replies to your question in the first two pages, and I'm not going to read them all, I'll answer you.

I think most people who didn't like this series would like the special. A lot of action and suspense. Intriguing plot. Some loose ends left open for sequel hooks. Fast paced. Good visuals.

Or, a Dalek can make a difference for some fans. Either way, the series was rather lukewarm to me, even if I did enjoy that it was different to Moffat's incarnation. I just wish it was more... substantive.

Seconded.

Well it is the BBC after all. They're pretty scary. They might send Michael Grade to cancel Rotten Tomatoes if they don't behave.

And it seems that the same people who can't seem to accept the fact that barely any Doctor Who series reached 1,000 audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes yet series 11 has reached almost 6,000, with the vast majority of 1/2 point scores being from newly set-up accounts that have only reviewed Series 11 and Resolution is evidence of review-bombing are insistent that if Jodie or Doctor Who wins the National TV Awards it's "rigged".

Completing a rewatch before the new new years show tomorrow, and I can see a very simple solution to a Neanderthal Dalek bringing the side down.

Racism.

No other Dalek in the universe could tolerate that "thing" daring to call itself a Dalek, conquering in the name of Dalek kind, or adding new space to the Dalek Empire.

All Daleks are incredibly racist and insist on ultimate purity, so killing that old timey Dalek last year, for us, quickly and efficiently, wouldn't be any skin off their noses at all.

They might even thank us, for bring the elaboration to their attention.

:)
