Resistance ebook available?

I apologize if this has already been asked, but does anyone know why Resistance is not available as an ebook yet? Simonsays.com shows it as released on 9/8, but their site says it's not avaialle. ereader.com doesn't show it at all.

Any ideas on why it's not avaialbe, and if so, when will it hit the electronic bookshelves?

Thanks!

I emailed Simon and Schuster and got a response on Tuesday. They say that they will release the ebook in a week. So hopefully, they will release by next Tuesday, 9/18, as an ebook.

Too bad I've already purchased the dead tree edition. I just wish the ebooks would be released at the same time.

I'll believe it when I see it. I've pretty much given up on S&S's ebook department ever releasing anything on time; two or three years ago, they were reliable, releasing books at the same time as or even before they hit print. But now? :(

Mobireader? bleh. Never been a fan of that particular reader.

I'll wait. Got plenty of SCE to catch up on.

Very frustrating for those of us that prefer ebooks are having to wait so much longer these days. (must stop... before I go... on an ebook rant...grrrr)

Thankfully mobipocket reader is my favorite reader... And certainly the best for the palm platform where I do my reading. If you haven't tried it for some time you should try it again, it has improved considerably since the amazon take-over

As of today, Resistance is now available on Ereader.com . Which I'm slightly p*&%$d off about, because I relented yesterday and bought Q&A, started reading it, and then noticed this morning that Resistance has been released. :brickwall:

But, Simon & Schuster do release their ebooks in eReader format. The button for that is labeld Palm. And the price is a lot cheaper. $4.54 vs. $6.29 (newsletter price). If you had wanted Resistance sooner, you could have gone to simonsays.com and gotten it there for less and sooner.

Well that would be ideal and I would have, but unfortunately, Simon Says that someone from the EU can't purchase the eBooks due to various VAT related mumbo-jumbo. The advantage with eReader is that I can get the new releases a month before the rest of the UK, and more-often-than-not Star Trek books aren't available in my local area anyway.

have you actually tried to make a purchase to see what happens?

Many times. I used to purchase the original SCE titles with them a couple of years back, and had no problem downloading them at all. However, I stopped buying eBooks for a year or so, and then since then whenever I tried to be an eBook from them a message came up saying that I couldn't complete the transaction because I was outside of the US and quoted some legal jargon.

It was then that I found that you could obtain the eBooks from eReader and, bar a couple of occassions (i.e. Mere Anarchy, Book 4 and Resistance), I haven't been disappointed.

Give BooksOnBoard a try. They have Resistance in eReader format for $5.59. For the eReadr format books they have that you want, you will save money.

Just checked that our JWolf, thanks for the heads up.

I bought Resistance of eReader itself unfortunately, but I will definitely see if I can get future eBooks off of BooksOnBoard, as they are definitely cheaper. :)

Happy to help. I do find ebooks to be quite a good thing.
