Remembrance of the Daleks

The decision to cast Mr Bronson as a Dalek-controlled headmaster was a work of genius, though yes, Laurence Scarman is the better part.

The guy played so many iconic roles over the years, from Section LEader Kelgg in Blakes 7, to Hitler to Admiral Ozzle and of course, Mr Bronson.

Actually, Klegg's my favourite of his.

"Remembrance of the Daleks" is not perfect and like the rest of the original Doctor Who its ample story ambitions stretch the tiny budget, but on the other hand it runs circles around "Evolution of the Daleks" and "Journey's End", while holding up a lot better than most of the The Next Generation episodes being aired at the time.

It's my second favourite Davros story after Genesis of the Daleks.

I just wish they'd release the restored version as a single DVD.

^Very possibly within a few months of the R2 date- it seems likely that the reason the original R1 release was canceled was that an R1 version without an R2 equivalent would cause British consumers to import. Now it'll be out in R2, that logic disappears.

Ah, well that would be good. And maybe I need to find a new release date source. I tend to use wikipedia. It's been pretty accurate in the past but a couple days ago when I checked I never saw the info about the single version for this one.

Yeah, I've looked at it before. I just prefer the wikipedia one to that one. There's another one that the Whotopia editors use but at the moment, I'll be damned if I can remember what the site is. *shrugs*

Ah well. It's coming and that's all that matters.

They are presumably all updated by people reading the same information, so I doubt it matters. I feel a bit sorry for the people who double-dipped on the Davros set just to get the new Remembrance and the "exclusive" documentary, both of which will soon be available for a fiver.
