With the announcement of season 2 remastered being a DVD only release, what are the chances that season 1 remastered will be re-released as DVD only? Now that HD-DVD seems to have lost the war with Blu-ray, I'm not keen on shelling out lots of money for the combo set and not taking full advantage of it.

I think since the HD-DVD format is now defunct, the Season 1 Combo set should be price matched with the Season 2 DVD set.
Season 3 should ideally be priced the same as well.
Considering Amazon's prices at this time, I think it's now a reasonable DVD purchase, at least for Season 2.
Once 3 is released, and 1 matches 2's current price, the remastered set makes sense to me.
Another idea, for the more budget concious, might be to create a Remastered Collective of 4-8 remastered episodes, perhaps chosen by fans with Okuda commentary and comparrison to the unremastered set, and a documentary on the remastering process.
THAT would be REALLY good.
