All Hail The Shatt!!!!......and glory be to the holy fallout!!!.....................not forgetting the Holy Grenade of Antioch:devil:

A Star Trek religion? What, like in Futurama? Well, there were enough Jedis in a recent census to register it as a religion but I don't think 'Trekkies' will ever register as an official faith. At least, I hope not - I may have to convert!!;)

Gene Roddenberry was called "Great Bird of the Galaxy".

But the only religion trek explored to any depth was the Bajoran religion and other than that kept religion out of it.

Some people tried (multiple times I think) to make the Jedi religion an official one.

But Star Trek? What would they worship? Kirk? A logo? It's plain silly in my opinion. It would be more of a philosophy.

ok tnx was just wondering, still trying to find the film with the planet eye sequence

In the novel version of 2001: A Space Odyssey, the spaceship Discovery approaches one of Saturn's moons, Iapetus. Dave Bowman leaves the ship in a pod and begins to approach a feature known as the Eye of Iapetus, which turns out to be a
giant monolith that sends Bowman to God-knows-where, and then converts him into the Star Child that is seen hovering over earth at the end of the film.

In the film, this was changed because Kubrick didn't find any of the Saturn representations to be convincing on film, thus Jupiter it was.

Yeah, "Where No Fan Has Gone Before" had the Church of Trek and the Ceiling of the Christine Chapel. :guffaw:
