"Rejoined"

In my continuing expedition to watch all of DS9 after having only seen about two seasons, I just watched "Rejoined" last night.

Whoa! How awesome and ahead of its time that was!

I'm sure that twisted some people's undies at the time. Bravo for putting that story "out"!

:techman:

I always loved this one. One of the most emotional Dax episodes, and I still think the ending is a gut-wrenching kind of sad. I also think it's cool that no one even thinks to bring up that Jadzia Dax and Lenara Kahn are both women; that's not what the issue is about, but it's like no one cares, which is very cool to me. I think it's a great story that really puts some of the aspects of the Trill to great use, and it's interesting to see Jadzia a little more serious than usual. Oh, and I love Worf's line about Klingon dreams. Much like Kira, I never could figure out if he was joking or not. I also think that Susanna Thompson put up a terrific performance here. (Fun Fact: she also played a Romulan in The Next Phase, the alien who was on about the spoon in Frame of Mind, and the Borg Queen in VOY)

Just saw this episode myself for the very first time. Wow. What a fantastic exploration about love ... true love ... in the face of whatever taboos society might place in the way of such emotions. There were a few less-than-perfect scenes. But by and large, this as a fantastically understated episode.

Oh, and "the kiss" was hardly what the episode was all about.
