Apologies if a thread already exists for this topic....
When I first saw Rejoined back in the day, the kiss was a punch in the gut. One reason it was so affecting was the spit bridge between the lips of Jadzia and Lenara. :adore:
I recently rewatched the episode, and--no spit bridge. Whaaa--? Had I misremembered? And then this weekend I re-rewatched it on Netflix at an acquaintance's house. I HAD misremembered--there were TWO spit bridges. So, did censors blur out the spit? They blur cleavage and ass cracks, so I guess it's possible. Or do I just have a crap TV?

Allow me to give my informed analysis. And I hope you find it of value.

(*Ahem*)

:wtf:

Interesting.
I don't know if any of you saw Desert Hearts, but apparently visible saliva in the main love scene offended some viewers. Producers who wanted to hire director Donna Deitch for another project specifically asked her to make sure there would be no visible spit. At the time she thought it was strange directive, as do I.
Are members of this board really so squeamish? Or am I encountering some not so subtle homophobia?

And i thought the posts in the first nuTrek threads, making graphic measurements comparing Nimoy and Quinto's noses as part of an argument about Quinto not being the right person to recast Spock was innane and bad.

I haven't been this fascinated by examining onscreen mouth closeups since Belloq ate that fly in Raiders.
