Does anyone have the colossal Death and Return of Superman Omnibus that came out a couple of years ago? I've been meaning to pick this up for old time's sake (I had at one point nearly the entire run of issues of Reign of Superman along with the new stand edition of Superman#75 and that was even in its second printing). I remember wanting the bagged edition of Superman#75 and it being sold out. I have seen a couple at the comic shop on sale now for 25 bucks and I have been tempted to pick it up just to satisfy my old childhood fascination with it.
I also liked the fact that each of the Supermen had some kind of connection to Kal-El....and with the exception of Steel, Lois's reaction to three of them was interesting as well. A slight digression...I was reading Justice League of America#0 and there is a great panel of Batman at the control console of the Fortress of Solitude watching the tattered cape of Superman flapping in the air and breaking down and crying at the loss of his friend and Wonder Woman coming in to console him. Batman's reaction at the death of Superman was pretty much how I felt as a naive 13 year old. I remember telling my mom that Superman had died...and she replied don't be silly he'll be back.
