Region 2 DVD versions....

Which ones are worthier to buy?

The tall, book-like cases, released in 2003?

Or slimline edition that were released last year?

Well?

Depends on whether you like the boxes or not. I don't like the disc holders of the 2003 DVDs so I imagine the 2007 versions are better.

I ask because I've been purchasing DS9 so far, and I can't find the boxes for seasons 4, and 7.

I am interested to know, if "WAY OF THE WARRIOR" is shown in two episodes or as the combined feature, in the slimline set, and also, if there's more than English in its languages selections.

Just asking, and sorry if I seemed rude in my second, and third, post.

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

As far as I know the DVDs from the box sets are identical to the half season boxes. So it really depends on what packaging you prefer. As for "Way Of The Warrior", if I remember correctly the episode is shown in feature length. The languages are French (Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround), German (Dolby Digital 5.1), English (Dolby Digital 5.1), Spanish (Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround), Italic (Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround).

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

Thank you Belar.

Amazon.co.uk, offers the complete fourth season, slimline package and all. Whereas Amazon.de offers the slimline packaged season, half and half (Part 1 and Part 2).

Is there a significant difference between the two? For anybody who might know?

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

No, you don't seem dull and uninteresting at all. But I think the initial question was answered, wasn't it? The Region 2 DVDs, whether they are in the half season boxes or the complete box sets, are completely identical. There is no difference.

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

It's been suggested some regions have different edits. Did you check this DS9 forum for the other topic?

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

Yes, I think my "Emissary" is slightly edited. I believe I don't have the O'Brien-Picard farewell scene.

Is it posted on youtube, perhaps, so I can check upon it?

The original box sets hat the complete "Emissary" tv movie. I'm not sure about the new release, but the discs are supposed to be identical to the original ones.

By the way, do the discs have the same artwork as well?

Re: Region 2 DVD versions ...

I suppose so - but nevertheless, I have never seen any O'Brien-Picard scene. I mean, Stewart only did the Sisko scenes in the pilot, didn't he?

Picard took the place of the transporter chief to beam O'Brien over to DS9:

The image is thanks to TrekCore ... I hope it's ok to link to them?

Sorry, double post. I'll have to get used to this new board ...

To The Death and Sons And Daughters are edited on the R2/R4 discs.

Emissary, Way Of The Warrior and What You Leave Behind are there in their feature length and uncut versions.

See this thread for further information.

I swear, I have never seen this image/scene, before, in my life!

Can anyone pinpoint me to a vid where this scene takes place? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's not aware of such scene.

Thanks for the capture, anyhow. Its great. Thank you for going through the trouble for someone who didn't have the chance to witness such scene.

Maybe you have seen the two part version? Some scenes had been cut there to make room for the extra end/opening credits. O'Brien on the bridge of the Enterprise and Picard beaming him to the station, and I think another one is where Sisko is bluffing the Cardassians into believing that DS9 is armed with 5000 phonton torpedoes or whatever.

However, the DVD version is complete!

I don't know if these scenes can be found online, sorry. But you can check out TrekCore.com, they have some nice picture galleries!
