Rees Vaughn

They updated actor Rees Vaughn page at IMDB to show the fact that he died way back in 1976 at the tender age of 38.

You wonder where some of these actors went and I guess some of the minor ones passed away and it never got reported and they never got to be part of the post first-run explosion of interest in Trek.

Starting in the 80s the guy could probably have made decent bucks justy going to cons and signing autographs.

They didn't say how he died but it probably wasn't a stone-tipped spear.

R.I.P.

"Sorry about that, chief." I have done that about 15 times and didn't know better till now.

I'll just do the little link from now on without the 'hotlink' ( I don't even know what hotlink actually means.)

The actor was just 28 when filming the episode.
Damn they gave a lot of actors a shot at being random crewmembers and various nondescript aliens!

It's kind of funny that someone would see David Soul's performance (for example) and say, "Hey, he should have a series." and some of these other people barely ever acted again.

They should have said---- Don't give up on us baby.

It looks as though IMDB has the dates for the wrong Rees Vaughn. If you will check the message board on his page, you will see that someone has posted an account of an obituary giving his dates as 1935 to 2010. As this entry gives considerable biographical information, it seems likely that it is correct. For more information, see also the post, "Will the real Rees Vaughn please stand?"

I see that IMDB has removed Rees Vaughn's dates for the present, so I guess they're investigating the matter.

In the future, more information would be nice for these incredibly obscure actors. If that screencap had just been of his face, I still would still be wondering who the hell that guy was.

IMDB has corrected the dates for Rees Vaughn. (Charles) Rees Vaughn was born on February 23, 1935 and died on February 6, 2010. He therefore lived to the fairly respectable age of just short of 75, not 38.

Something similar happened in the case of veteran character actor John Larch, who had over a hundred TV guest spots to his credit. For years, Larch's IMDB page stated that he died back in 1994 even though Larch was alive and well at the time, merely in retirement. IMDB finally corrected itself and removed the erroneous death date in 2005. Ironically, Larch did die for real shortly thereafter.
