Yeah, a hack of the same old (E) thing, plus a guess at the shape and scale of the ill-fated Kelvin...still trying to figure out what Abrams and Co. are doing. (that the "kelvin" is only flat lines...after Madman1701's Great Kelvin thread...what was the point I did stick a "gabe/trailer" inspired nacelle on there, to see how it fit in. )

I've got Blender installed, so these sketchy psd's will be a thing of the past! (Just give me a few years to learn to use it).

Cool! I like it a lot.

Did you change the Enterprise from the last time, modify the deflector cowling? Its the only think that bugs me, cause it seems like it sticks out too far forward. Other then that... Great!

yeah, made it longer, not so stubby looking in the front, and added the blue glowing deflector from what we saw on the Kelvin, instead of the metal copper dish thing...(I still wonder if it spins)...yeah it is big...I wasn't sure, so I left it where it ended up, you know. I could cut it back.

I mean it still looks great, and your PS skills are incredible...it was just the one thing that I noticed. I am so used to seeing a dish on the TOS Enterprise, it just looks odd without one.

I'm about ready to get the dremel tool and some plastic and build the damn thing in the garage....just kidding, but MAN these 3D modeling programs make me feel stupid.

Actually, (this is probably for another thread/area) I'm wondering if this take on the trailer E is even remotely valid, in light of rumors that ILM just threw it together.
Your rendition of the Kelvin, on the other hand, is based on a real clip, and really gives some insight about the look of the movie.

Can't wait to see more of your work.

Well thanks, and yeah, the dish is so iconic that I guessed that they would try to incorporate it...but after seeing the older Kelvin with a blue glowing deflector, though...(I'm guessing that is what it is) I guess they decided to ditch the copper dish...I hope they don't "TMP" it up too much.

I can say now (after elections, and now THIS) that I am obviouly far, far too conservative.
With the "conjecture" stuff a moot point now, perhaps we can all go back to designing and sharing are own mini "reboot universes", artwork and stories.

(I really hate those talking "I'm a PC" ads...startles the hell out of me every time my mouse bumps into them)

Well, at one point I simply labeled it "NX-1700", with really plain prototype/testbed markings...hell, actually that might still work, being that it does share some distorted
design elements with the actual one, while retaining something of the TOS shape.

Please by all means feel free to build it! Can't wait to see it "living and breathing"!
(3 views can be rather lifeless sometimes).
