Redoing Supernatural Season 9

This thread is for those of you who believe, like I do, that the recently concluded season hasn't been a good one and that it suffered from certain flaws. Contrived Sam-Dean conflicts that were clearly created as angst for angst's sake and good ideas (the Mark of Cain, the Hell power struggle, etc.) with not so good execution are the ones I can think of. What do you guys out there consider to be the flaws of Season 9? And what would you do to correct them if you had that power over the show?

I didn't have any major problems with this season. The season I really didn't like was 7 the Leviathan season. That's when I almost dropped the show. I'm very interested in this angel civil war and hell civil war.

As for contrived Sam/Dean angst, that's just the spine of the series  It's as much as a requirement as one of them dying every year or so!

You died, and I brought you back, and now you're mad at me.

You died, and you didn't try to bring me back, and now you're mad at me.

You didn't die, but you should have died, and now I'm mad at you.

We both died, and Castiel didn't try to save us, so now we're mad at him.

You can pretty much just find any permutation of that and shove it into the current season.

I would've ended the Metatron story much earlier probably just past mid-season and then had Abaddon end the season as the main villain. I got tried of Metatron as he was just too much of a goofball for part of the season. He just lost his edge.

Also Sam and Dean being at odds all season just got boring, repetitive and frustrating. The show goes there way too often. This was my least favorite season of the show...even the Leviathan season was better (not by much though).

THIS

I would have built Metatron up as the Big Bad for the first half of the season - and then unceremoniously KO'd him in sweeps week.

Leaving it to Bart and Cas to duke it out for the big seat in Heaven - because, let's face it, Bart was a more interesting pretender to the throne than the too-powerful Metatron.

Also dump the Angel Tablet.

Play the drug addiction angle out across the first half of the season with Crowley - but he gets his mojo back after helping the boys defeat Metatron.

Last half of the season is therefore Cas vs Bart, Abaddon vs Crowley. Ultimate Bart/Abaddon team-up for an almighty Cas/Crowley/Winchester smackdown in the finale -

Also allows us to play the Mark of Cain arc out for more time, get it midway through the first half - used in the defeat of Metatron but then Dean's growing need to kill and the side effects of not killing bubbling away underneath it all.

Of course, Team Winchester wins - Bart and Abaddon are defeated. Dean finds he's become a demon - and Sam discovers he's still got some of Gadriel's grace inside him.

Same ending, but this time it's deserved.

Sounds better than what originally happened in S9.

I hated Bart. A season with him as the big bad would have been worse than season six.
