Redid my kitbash pages, some new images added...

Forbin

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
My kitbash pages were bugging me. They've been around a long time, and I noticed I've been inconsistant with things like image size throughout, and the button width on the main page. So I spent the weekend updating things.

Some of the older images were only 400 pixels wide, done back in the stone age when I had a tiny screen set to 800 x 600. So where I still had the original art (and it turns out I didn't save a lot of it!), I replaced the old ones with 600 pixel-wide images. If I couldn't find the originals, I made new art, using the original model photos if I still had them, but improving the backgrounds and action.

I'd created new pictures for my last couple of calendars, and that was never put into the kitbash webpages for those individual ships. That's been bugging me. So I added those pictures where applicable. And for some reason I'd done crew patches for the Couer de Lion and the Belisarius, so what the heck, I stuck those in too. :)

The newer kitbash pages were okay, so I didn't touch them. But everything is a little different because I ditched the blue background and went all black, and made new buttons.

And of course, I added a page with new art for the latest bash, the Columbus.

Here's what's new:

Reeses (1 new pic added)
Columbus (all-new Entry!)
Venture (new pic added, older ones enlarged)
Belisarius (new pic added, crew patch)
Peregrine (new pic added, older ones enlarged)
Coeur de Lion (new pic added, crew patch)
Terrell (new pic added, older one enlarged)
Dominion (one old pic enlarged, one old pic redone better)
Kirov (new pic added, older one enlarged)
Alacrity (both pics recreated new, bigger & better)
Edmund Fitzgerald (same pics, but enlarged)
Grand Alliance (1 new pic added)
Surak (2 new pics created replacing old crappy one)
Preble (same pics, but enlarged)
Arminius (1 new pic from calendar, 1 brand new one, one old one enlarged)

And I added a few ships to that profile comparison chart that links at the bottom of the page.

I'll probably never make it complete, 'cause I don't really feel like drawing all 25 ships! :D

So that's what I did with MY weekend. Enjoy, pilgrims!

btw, if you're still seeing old pictures, hit your refresh button. I was still getting the cached images my first couple of times thru.

Oh, and here's my favorite new pic I did this weekend:

That looks great, it's more organized than before. I wish I had your modeling ability. :) I always get mad, and never finish anything.

Nice. Do you have a large clean top view of the Grand Alliance you can post, or a set of orthos?

New Reeses pic? *rushes over* :bolian:

*edit* If you ever have the time then would it be possible to have the Reeses fly in formation with one or more of your other TOS era ships? :)

Hey Forbin, do you mind if I take the Val'Walo for a ride down the remodelling lane? With your permission, I'd like to redesign the ship, ofcourse while retaining the original overallshape; just gonna make it more flowing, and if I have the time for it I'll model it. Only with your permission, of course :)

Forbin, I always view your threads with great envy of your painting skills. Fantastic models!

I'm also an admirer of Starscape's 3D imagery, especially his Spitfire concept. Have you ever thought of doing a "light cruiser" kitbash like this? Please consider this a request!

Gosh, thanks Wingsley. I'd love to see the Spitfire as a physical model too. I've often thought about what it would take to build it up and I could probably manage it, but then I'd have to paint it... :(

Go right ahead!
Maybe you should name it something else, then they can both exist in the same universe as sister ships.
