Red (Shirt) Chute!

Did anyone else notice that when Kirk and Sulu jumped from the shuttle, there was a third guy with a red chute? I elbowed my husband, pointed to the guy and said, "He's dead, Jim."

Yes, indeed. I'm reading the book to find out what insane notion made him delay pulling the cord.
