Not interesting in all the publicity Twilight connections, but a good,spooky version of the tale is due. Whether this is it or not we'll just have to wait and see. I'll wait to DVD most likely anyway. Is another spooky Snow White, Rose Red, or Sleeping Beauty on the horizon, too?

It's her biggest movie, has some similar themes, and they're trying to market the movie. Besides, she only directed the first Twilight.
Wouldn't work too well to say "From the director of Thirteen and Lords of Dogtown." Although one Titanic poster said "From the director of Aliens and T2" even though they aren't anything like Titanic.

Yes the Twilight director angle is a marketing bit, but its more worrisome to me that they has to add that director tag to begin with. Generally when a movie is pumped with 'From the producers of, written by, from director....' it usually means they have nothing else quality to say about the show, or fear it can't stand on its own. So they pull out the clout and drop unrelated titles to attract those audiences, irregardless if they are similar or may alienate another audience.
Red Riding Hood- starring the girl from Mamma Mia!! Yeah come and see it if you like ABBA. It doesn't matter if you like gothic fantasy tales, no not at all!
