Red Faction movie in the works, possible TV series

Yeah, Homeworld is damn near unwinnable unless you go salvage-crazy. And you absolutely must grab the multi-beam frigates in the Garden. They slice through enemy capships like butter.

I remember just barely escaping the Garden my first time through the game. I think I jumped out of there with only a few capital ships remaining and my Mothership half-destroyed. Felt an incredible sense of accomplishment, though. :D

^Same here the first time round as I recall. That is not counting the initial half dozen times I was destroyed! :p
The key to that mission is to play defensibly. Focus on protecting the mothership, never letting your forces get too far out and capture as many ion frigates as you can and use them against the enemy mothership. Either way, you'll still take heavy losses, but getting a fleet of those frigates is worth having most of your forces wiped out.

Getting back to Red Faction for a moment, did anyone play the new game last year? I didn't bother because I heard some unfavourable things and in the absence of a demo I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I liked the original game and the geo-mod gimmick was pretty good, but they seemed to run out of uses for it towards the end as you quickly found yourself in metal corridors, unable to take advantage of it.
never played the second one, but I heard it was rubbish.

I played the first one and loved it. The second one was complete shit though. I never got around to the third one but alot of the responses in this forum were positive. I may check it out someday when I can pick it up for a 10 spot

On the game side of things, it looks like more information on new red faction games has come out

Details on the game remain largely under wraps. However, a title may have surfaced today, courtesy of Internet sleuthing site Superannuation. On February 22, THQ registered a number of domain names and variant spellings for Red Faction: Armageddon and Red Faction: Origins. [
