Red Dwarf, this weekend

Cky

Captain

Just a heads up for people that don't know, Dave have listed in TV guides that Red Dwarf will air on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all at 9pm. So we're getting three half an hour episodes this weekend :).

And there's the behind the scenes special, too. And on Monday they air all 3 and the behind the scenes one back to back.

Grrr, there is no chance that i'll be in on all 3 nights at 9pm on a bank holiday weekend. Looks like i'll be DLing them then, at least the second 2.

Unless you're going to be out Monday, too, you can catch them all in one go.

I'll watch Friday live, but i'm also not prepared to wait until monday to see Saturdays episode, so i'll DL it on Sunday morning and watch Sunday's on the Monday omnibus.

I'm too impatient to wait, but also not prepared to stay in to watch it

No DVD or video recorder?

Can't wait for this. The wait has been long. Hard to believe we are getting it. Now i'm feeling the same feeling when season 7 was about to be shown for the first time. Waiting so long for the resolution to the cliffhanger.

I can understand where you're coming from. You awful pirate, you.
Also, what Deckerd said.

I wouldn't bet on there being a resolution to the cliffhanger.

I would. Even if it's just a throw away line or a quick Season 3 scroll by.

The only thing that worries me is the fact that the crew will visit coronation Street during the course of the episodes. :brickwall:

...what.

Has anyone seen any of the teasers? It looks as though Starbug has become a Smart car...

Apparently they end up on The Street while looking for Lister, and run in to his character from Corrie.

and that would be Carbug...

I really don't like it when they bring soaps into my favorite British sci-fi, it demeans it in my eyes.
They have a bloody Eastenders actor in the next Doctor Who episode and no doubt the bloody gurning morons in the tabloid 'press' will bang on and on about it like the complete :censored: muppets that they are!

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this!

I'm sort of looking forward to it, but a couple of things fill me with dread:

1) No Rob Grant - expecting Series 7/8 quality writing (which is *not* a good thing)

2) All seems to be single camera shooting, reminiscent of Series 7 (again, *not* a good thing)

3) Corrie "crossover" - yeah. No.

4) Most of the shots I've seen so far look like they spend a good chunk of the episode running around a modern shopping centre.

Blegh. I just don't know. I'll be watching, but I'm not exactly expecting a return to the glory days, put it that way.

Come on Jim, set those expectations too high, so you can be depressingly disappointed, like the rest of us.

That's what being a Sci-Fi fan is all about!:rommie:

I'm trying a different tack. Convince myself it's a steaming pile of dog shit before it airs, then be utterly elated when it turns out to simply be "a bit rubbish".
