That was actually a good trailer. Somehow it felt like Red Dwarf, which is something I haven't seen from the show since S6. It bodes well for the show, anyway.

I may just let myself get my hopes up a bit! :cool: :D

Really? It's prompting me to login. And the Dave site is region locked. I'm sure I can find it on YouTube or other means so no big deal.

Yeah, I'm sure it's on YouTube by now. Still, it's weird that you're getting a login request to view it and I don't. Maybe a region-specific thing again, like the Dave site? Dunno.

Wow, the gang just looks... old. I *know* it's more than twenty years later, but the delivery of the lines sounds tired. The writing however feels snappy, though I'm not sure if they picked the best gag lines to fill a trailer with. I hope the final product will be at least S5-6 or S8 funny. Not expecting S3-4 funny, as IMO that was Dwarf at its unparalleled best. S1-2 was a different kind of funny. S7 was a VERY different kind of funny. S9 was not funny.

^ I pretty much agree with your rankings of the seasons.

Two of my all time favorites are from S4, DNA & White Hole (see my current sig).

Nothing brings a smile to my face more than hearing the instrumental version of the Red Dwarf theme :)

I cannot wait for this show.

The bit about Lister betting Rimmer in a poker game brought a smile to my face. This preview gives off a "back to basics" vibe for Red Dwarf. Mainly, it seems to be once again a buddy comedy set in a sci-fi environment. Looking forward to it.

Some more than others. I like what Rimmer is doing with his hair this season. It gives a certain dignity to his age that his short, curly, receding hairline couldn't quite muster. Kryten seems a bit older but the prosthetics are hiding a lot of that. Lister looks a bit older from some angles but not so much from others. And Cat hardly looks older at all.

But what I love best is that the show seems to have recaptured the look & feel of the old series in a way that the single-camera, no-laugh-track "Back to Earth" just couldn't.

Not bad at all.

I think I still generally prefer the less homely, more utilitarian looks of the other series, but I guess in this case change isn't bad. After all, even a lazy bachelor like Lister has had long enough now to do a little redecorating. :D

Or they finally managed to get the skutters to do some work. :p Then again I'm not sure I would trust the skutters to change a light bulb.
