    Hello,

I am new here so go easy on me.Does anyone know if the enterprise writers have ever acknowledged any Red Dwarf inspiration? I am on a watch through now and already “shuttlepod one” and “rogue planet” seem clear nods to “marooned” and “camille” episodes from early dwarf.
The similarities almost make them look like homage episodes.

As cool as that would be, and you ever know what shows may have inspired the writers, those do seem to be pretty basic sci-fi (or even just movie) tropes.

I mean, nobody ate dogfood in that shuttle AFAIK. Was there an amorphous green blob in Rogue Planet?

I think ENT would have been a much better show had they taken Red Dwarf as inspiration. However, the examples you cite were most likely just coincidentally linked to it at best.

Data had "Spot." Red Dwarf had "Cat" the descendant of Lister's "Frankenstein." If only Kryten had Frankenstein instead of Lister....
