Red Bull Cola could be banned in Germany....

..after traces of cocaine are found in it

Germany is considering a nationwide ban on the high-energy drink Red Bull Cola after traces of cocaine were found in it.

Authorities in the states of Hesse and North-Rhine Westphalia have ordered retailers to stop selling the beverage - which is available in the UK.

The consumer ministries in the two states confirmed they had ordered retailers to pull the drink off their shelves after a food safety institute in North-Rhine Westphalia found the drug in samples.

The investigation found the drink to contain a de-cocainized extract of coca leaf in the drink.
snorting a line : de-cocainized coca leaf extract :: smoking a joint : smoking a piece of hemp rope

As far as getting high is concerned, anyway.

Drinking a thousand Red Bulls is like licking that crack wrapper one might find on the street.

Just thinking out loud.

Red Bull should be banned anyway. There are not many companies I hate as passionately as this one.

The whole Red Bull Salzburg business doesn't impress me either.

Yeah, that's sort of the origin of my animosity towards Red Bull, especially with me being a supporter of Rapid, since they turned out to be one of our main rivals since becoming stinking rich thanks to Red Bull. ;)
Before that I just didn't like them because of all that "fun" event/commercialist bullshit they are endorsing all the time.

I don't drink that shit, but my folks had a Westphalia camping van when I was a kid.... because I know you were wondering...

Isn't Red Bull Cola one of the few cola drinks that actually contains kola nut and isn't just corn syrup with colourings? Either way, who cares about a few nanograms of cocaine. Even in children, an amount that small probably wouldn't even have any physiological effect. I'd be more worried about the caffeine.

Well, no I can't, since they are dumping €50 million+/year into a rival football club of the one I support (that's a shitload of money in a league that's rubbish ;)), and besides Red Bull is pretty much ubiquitous in Austria.

That stuff should be banned everywhere.

It tastes like you're drinking bull piss with a hint of shit put in for good measure.

They'll probably ban poppy seeds next.

FWW, this seems to be talking about Red Bull Cola - a Red Bull "coke" they have out in some areas and not the Red Bull Energy Drink - a substance I bow to and devote my sleep-deprived days too.
