I thought it was a great movie all the way around. Helen Mirren is fantastically sexy with her attitude and a gun in her hands. Malkovich was a bit too over the top, but that's kind of his stock and trade.

All in all, a great movie to whet my appitite for the holiday movie season.. Now.. Bring on Tron!!

What impressed me the most about Helen Mirren's performance was that there wasn't even the slightest hint of a flinch when she fired her weapons, even on full-auto!
I mean, even the toughest male action stars blink while firing (the lead actor on Hawaii Five-0 scrunches up his whole face!), but Mirren remained steely-eyed throughout.
(I'll be so disappointed if I found out that they just put a calm expression on her face digitally. They do that kinda thing, y'know!)

Robert Schwentke Directed Red in a best way for us . It is based on a comic series. The movie revolves around a former CIA agent Frank Moses, who has been living his days in the lap of luxury.

I think she just rehearsed a lot with the weapons; I seem to recall her describing, in some interview, that she enjoyed firing the large guns a lot more than she thought she would. And I'm sure that it wasn't nearly as loud as it was on-screen (enhanced sound effects, etc).

I saw this a couple of weeks ago with a friend, and neither of us had particularly great expectations going in.

We were pleasantly surprised. A lot of fun, some hilarious, quirky performances from Malkovich, Mirren, Cox, and Parker, and lots of big 'splosions. :D

If not for Malkovitch I'd have only given it an average, but he pushed it one level higher.

The most disappointing part for me was Freeman's character was rather pointless and his death was meh. Didn't feel any emotional impact in that scene at all.

I had very low expectations, which it failed to reach. I was hoping it would either be funny, or have good action, ideally both, but I found it to have neither. Just a waste of time.

I probably wouldn't even had considered it but a friend was excited about it, and it received decent reviews.
