Recommend a high-speed internet service!

I'm moving into a new place and I need to find an internet service that is fast, stand-alone (no phone or TV, preferably), affordable and reliable.

Any recommendations?

I've got Verizon FiOS (just the Internet service part) and it's awesome. I pay $35 a month for it, which is actually a discounted rate I get for 2 years. Installation was free, equipment was free. I had no up-front costs (except the service itself.) The normal rate is $54.99 a month.

This is what I've got:

They've got faster plans for more money, too.

^ I'll look into that.

Is the service pretty reliable? My fiance's computer is getting a DL speed of 14.48, but I think she's supposed to be getting 25 on her plan.

I'd like to be able to stream videos and use services like Netflix with minimal interruption.

Where do you live? It would make a difference....

Georgia, USA. Sorry.

I pay for the 15/5 plan, and as you can see I get right about that. The connection has never gone down (had it for several months now) and I never have issues with Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc. If you get the 25/25 plan, it should be pretty rockin'.

I don't generally have nice things to say about Verizon, but the FiOS service seriously kicks ass.

I upgraded from DSL, where I had 5 down, and allegedly 1 up, but in reality it was more like 400k up. Bleh.

I could technically host a server now, but Verizon frowns on such things.

I use Comcrap broadband. I pay about $60 per month for what I think is supposed to be 16 or 18 Mb.

They change their packages so often, I'm not really sure what I have anymore, but it's worth what I'm paying.

And I definitely do not have any of their other services.
