recharging plate?

I remember reading that the recharging plate on SGU is a real device? Is this true and what is the name or brand? I cant find anything on it...

Yes and no.

It's called PowerMat. You can't just lay your device on it and charge it up like they do in SG-U. You have to clip a adapter on the back of it, then you can lay it on the plate and it'll charge the device.
