Recasting for NCIS: LA

TheInsideMan

Louise Lombard is departing the "NCIS" spinoff, from CBS TV Studios, which is set at an NCIS division charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals. LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell star in the ensemble drama, on which Lombard played Clara, a former major in the military police who became an investigator.

The role, perceived as the female lead, will be recast.

Will it actually be recast or will it be a replacement like with NCIS and Blackadder/Todd?

After the injury, they could take O'Donnell's character out of the field and bring in another agent.

I remember Louise Lombard from the house of Eliott she is not having much luck lately her show for BBC 1 did not get picked up.

I didn't feel much warmth from her character on this show, though I did quite like her when she was on CSI.

It's weird considering that she was the one who had the closest connection to Gibbs and was the key link between the two shows.

It was a connection made for the episodes though, as opposed to a character from NCIS moving to the spinoff. Sort of like how someone's "longtime friend" you've never heard of before shows up in an episode and turns out to be the bad guy, then you never hear about that friend ever again.

Good. Didn't like her anyway.
I didn't dislike her, but I don't think she has the screen presence to play a convincing lead.

Yeah, maybe that was it. In any event, I just couldn't connect with that character at all.

Not that it would have prevented me from watching the show - I liked Chris O'Donnell (though not NEARLY as much as I love Mark Harmon) and was prepared to give the show a chance.

But I don't know...I am really skeptical about their ability to duplicate the success of NCIS. Because on NCIS, it's not really the stories that makes the show for me (although most of them are pretty good). For me, it's all about the cast/character chemistry, which is some of the best I've seen on ANY show.

^ If you get a chance watch the behind the scenes of NCIS on TVGuide Channel at some point. The actors/actresses talk about the show and each other :).

^ I have all of the DVD sets and they seem to really get along and joke around quite a bit during the special feature Fan Q&A sessions. I'm assuming they do the same during that TVGuide Channel thing?

Seems like they really get along quite well.

the LA show seemed pretty blah and the female was the weakest part. I don't care about LA as a setting so I have no interest in watching it. I'm just glad they didn't move any of the NCIS team I like to this dren.

AP is reporting that Linda Hunt is joining the show as a "department manager" who will be like their Q (James Bond, not Star Trek). No further word on the recast yet.
