Recast Anakin Skywalker

Jedi Marso

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
...preferably with someone who could have realistically played the role at the time AOTC came out.

Who do you think?

Some people like Hayden; many don't.

Personally, I would have gone with Brendan Fraser. After the Mummy franchise he proved that he had the action chops and could handle comedic moments. He's also a bigger, more 'manly' guy than Hayden with more of a 'Vader' build, and I'm reasonably sure that he could come across as quite menacing/intimidating in the scenes that call for it.

Although he would have only been the right age to be young Anakin in TPM, I've always though that Evan Peters could have made a good recasting of troubled-twenty-something Skywalker in AOTC and ROTS:

He showed the exact mix of angst and psycho-killer in the first season of American Horror Story.

Nah, Hayden's shown enough in other roles that I'm perfectly fine with him as Anakin. It was the writing and directing that let him down. Most of Vader's "build" comes from the suit, anyway.

He did. The scripts for AOTC and ROTS had co-writers.
Attack of the Clones had a yes-man. ROTS at least had several influences, though Lucas still has sole writing credit according to IMDB, though other trivia lists Tom Stoppard as giving the script a final polish.

James Franco (would definitely fit if Lucas really wanted James Dean influence) or Joseph Gordon-Levitt or possibly Christian Bale (though he might not want to do it) most come to mind.

And thus, at least to me, it's no coincidence that RotS was the best of the prequels

OMG. Another thread about how the Prequels could be "fixed". Apparently, this one is about recasting Anakin Skywalker. I really find this a joke, considering the mega positive reaction to Hayden Christensen in Orlando.

The writing didn't let him down. He and the screenplays were fine. This is really becoming redundant.

And avoid the joy of expressing how I truly feel about Prequel bashers? Not on your life.
