A reboot = A restart. Which is what most tv-show 'reboots' are. Starting again with an old premise.

Call 'em "Fanfic". I sincerely believe 90% of "reboots" start with the phrase "Man, I so loved this show as a kid, would have been cool if...."

That would be a remake, like Psycho (1998).

Some things are worth rebooting, especially if they didn't live up to their original potential.

I don't have a problem with rebooting if it's done right, but I dislike shitty movie in general, so why would it be different for reboots?

They don't eliminate the original, sometimes they are better, and they often expose people who would never have watched the original to see it. None of these are bad things that force me to make a blanket statement like "reboots are bad".

And it always makes me giggle a bit when I see people criticizing reboots and remakes of movies that are themselves reboots and remakes from the 1930s and such, and they don't even know it.
